‘Citizen charter’ for 152 services in Noida from 15 Aug

In order to streamline traffic in the city, Noida authority has decided to regulate rickshaws in the city. It is also coming up with a citizen charter to fix responsibilities of its employees. These announcements were made during board meeting of Noida and Greater Noida authorities on Tuesday.
The authorities have informed that a policy has been framed on lines of government of India rules which will be implemented within a week. The officials said that under the new policy, registration of rickshaw will be done with the help of transport department. ‘The rickshaw-pullers will be given a separate badge, routes will be decided and separate stands will also be constructed for them’, said an official. He also added that if any of the rickshaw-pullers are caught violating the rule, they will be penalised for it. The policy has been sent to the state government for final approval. Apart from this, the authorities also announced to implement ‘citizen charter’ for 152 services of 12 departments from 15 August to fix responsibility of its employees to deliver within a stipulated time frame.
‘The citizen charter will be displayed outside every department of the Noida Authority. As per the charter, no work will be hauled up with any officer for more than seven working days. The charter includes a list of services to be provided to the common man and the time frame within which they need to be completed’, said Rama Raman, chairman of both authorities.
It was also decided at the meeting, to create separate vending and non-vending zones in the city to fight the menace of growing number of illegal vendors.
