CISF returns bags with cash, unites elderly woman with son

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel retuned bags containing over Rs 2 lakh of commuters in two separate cases in the Delhi Metro. 

According to the officials, the incidents happened over the weekend with the first taking place at the Chandni Chowk station on Saturday when security personnel noticed an unattended bag at the X-ray baggage scanner at the station. 

After conducting anti-sabotage checks, a senior official said the securitymen recovered a cash amount of Rs 1,10,000 and a mobile phone from the bag and it was kept in safe custody.

A person from Uttar Pradesh’s Pratapgarh later claimed it and his belongings were returned by the Metro authorities after checking his bonafide credentials, the official said. 

A similar incident took place later at Kashmere Gate station where a bag containing Rs 1,15,000 was found. The official said the bag was restored to its owner as it was picked up by another commuter travelling in the Metro. 

On the same day, Central Industrial Security Force personnel helped in reuniting a 67-year-old woman from Uttarakhand with his son from whom she got separated after boarding the rapid rail network at Saket on last Saturday.

Meanwhile on Saturday, a CISF constable Gopi Manchale deployed as CCTV observer noticed an elderly woman later identified as Leela Devi (67), resident of Pithoragarh, Uttarakhand weeping at platform number-2 of Vidhan Sabha Metro station. 

He immediately informed the concerned senior officials. The said elderly lady informed that she was with her son and boarded Metro at Saket Metro station. 

Later on, she got separated from his son Kundan Singh. She was assured that every possible help would be given to her to find out her son. 

She was brought to the Station Controller Room. Announcement was made at all the Yellow Line 

Metro stations and after hearing the announcement her son Kundan reached the Vidhan Sabha Metro station following which they were reunited.
