CISF recovers banned drugs from Tanzanian woman at IGI

Banned drugs worth around Rs 18 lakh in the international market has been recovered by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) from a Tanzanian woman at Terminal 3 of the IGI airport on Tuesday.
As narrated by CISF, the 36-year-old Tanzanian national, named Rashid Biwa Ramdhanni, was carrying 22.7 kilograms of the banned ‘pseudo-ephedrine’ drugs, which is worth around Rs 18 lakh in the international market. She was chosen by CISF officials at the airport for a thorough security check on the ground of suspicion.
‘During the screening of her baggage, 68 wrapped packets were found. when the packets were tested with the drug-detection kit, they were found banned pseudo-ephredine,’ said a CISF official. He further said, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) was informed immediately and it was the NCB officials who rushed to the airport and confirmed the test.
The Tanzanian woman had come to Delhi on 30 April, 2014, on a business visa.
