CISF best marching contingent at R-Day

The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)was adjudged the best marching paramilitary force contingent at the 64th Republic Day parade here on 26 January, it was announced on Thursday.
The CISF, which marched on the tune of Sare Jahan Se Achcha, emerged the winner among several other paramilitary forces and other auxiliary marching contingents.
Earlier, the force has won best marching contingent awards in the year 2007 and 2008.
The CISF contingent has also won the best marching contingent trophy at Kolkata, Bhopal and Kishtwar (Jammu and Kashmir).
The 148-member Delhi CISF contingent was led by Assistant Commandant Deepak Mani Tiwari.
The force safeguards entire critical infrastructure of the country ranging from airports to seaports, atomic energy stations to space organisations, power plants and steel plants to Delhi Metro.
