Police said that managers of Big Cinema situated in Ansal Plaza Mall in Vaishali area and PVR Cinema situated in EDM in Kaushambi area of Ghaziabad recently received blood-written letters threatening them of dire consequences if they showed Ragini MMS 2 which is scheduled for release on 21 March.
Police said that five right-wing groups -- Shri Rajpoot Karni Sena, Shri Chetriye Yuvak Sangh, Shri Chetriye Veer Jyoti, Shri Akhil Bhartiya Chetriye Mahasabha and Veer Shiromani Dal, have sent these threats.
‘In letters, they said if they show this movie in their cinemas, they would be responsible for the stream of blood as this film is against the Indian culture’, said a police officer.
After getting threats, Sudhir Kumar, manager of Big Cinema, on Friday filed a case at Indirapuram police station and wanted sufficient security around Big Cinema.
‘Such matters have come to light. Police are trying to find out the persons who have written such letters. Police are investigating the case and will soon come out with some arrest,’ said Virender Yadav, station officer, Indirapuram police station.
