Chiranjeevi calls on Luang Prabang governer

Union Minister for Tourism Shri K Chiranjeevi called on Khampheng Saysompheng, Governor of Luang Prabang province of Lao PDR at Luang Prabang city on Wednesday. Luang Prabang city is known for its Buddhist heritage, which is situated in North Central Lao PDR. During the meeting, both the leaders discussed various issues of bilateral interest including promotion of the Buddhist heritage circuit. It was mutually agreed to have road shows in both the countries to promote tourism bilaterally. The urgent need for the air connectivity between Luang Prabang and India was also underdined. Chiranjeevi invited the Governor of Luang Prabang to attend the conference on Sustainable Tourism coinciding with the Joint Regional Conference of UNWTO to be held at Hyderabad on the 12 and 13 April, 2013. Chiranjeevi is currently on a visit to Lao PDR to attend Indo-Asean Tourism Ministers summit.
