Child labourers rescued from east Delhi

Thirty-six child labourers from Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and West Bengal were rescued on Sundayfrom six garment factories in Seelampur and Usmanpur areas of north-east Delhi.
‘These child labourers were rescued in a joint raid by NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan, Labour department, Delhi police, National Legal Services Authority and Delhi Legal Services Authority,’ police said.
Twenty-eight child labourers from Bihar, seven from UP and one from West Bengal were rescued, they said.
The children were allegedly forced to work in poorly lit and ill-ventilated rooms and had to stay there itself, according to police.
