Chief secy conducts surprise inspection at ‘stinky’ Delhi Sect

In a surprise inspection of the Delhi Secretariat by chief secretary DM Spolia on Monday, used paper plates, cups, food boxes were found scattered on several floors of the building. Even the washrooms at the hi-tech building were found to be ‘stinky’ and unhygienic by the chief secretary.

‘The toilets are stinking and unbearable, water is flowing from every nook and corner,’ Spolia told PC Jain, special secretary, general administration department of Delhi government. Expressing anguish at the poor state of cleanliness in government’s headquarter, Spolia ordered Jain to ‘put things in place as soon as possible.’

He was also unhappy when he found that broken and defunct typewriter at the office of services department and asked the officials to immediately replace it.

The secretary further inspected the environment department and found that employees were not sitting in their respective places and empty food packets were littered everywhere.

After completing the inspection, he directed the employees to maintained cleanliness and hygiene at the headquarters. ‘We must inculcate habit of cleanliness and should always clean our place of work’, he said to the employees. He also said that he will conduct more surprise inspections in offices of deputy commissioners and PWD.
