Chidambaram reviews stalled projects worth Rs 31,500 cr in East

In a series of initiatives taken by the Finance Ministry, UCO Bank organised a meeting of Union Finance Minister, P Chidambaram with bankers and industrialists at Kolkata to review stalled projects of Eastern region.
The meeting was attended by Rajiv Takru, Union secretary for department of financial services, Arun Kaul, chairman and managing director (CMD) and Chandrasekharan, ED of UCO Bank. SBI chairman Pratip Chaudhiri and CMDs of Allahabad Bank and United Bank of India and promoters of the projects reviewed were also present. During the meeting 10 projects with a total outlay of Rs. 31,500 crores with a debt component of Rs. 23,700 crores were reviewed by Finance Minister. The Finance Minister discussed with the promoters regarding bottlenecks being faced by them in completing the projects.
