C’garh launches awareness drive against milk adulteration

Chhattisgarh government has launched a mega awareness campaign to check the adulteration of milk being sold in the markets.
The drive, titled ‘Doodh ka doodh, Pani ka pani’, a joint venture of Chhattisgarh State Dairy Federation and Kamdhenu University, began on Thursday under which the first camp was held at Rohnipuram area of Deendayal Upadhyay Nagar to examine the quality of milk, a spokesperson of the dairy federation said on Friday.
People attended the camp in large numbers where they got the samples of milk purchased by them for domestic use. Out of the 79 samples examined, 66 were found sub-standard and adulterated, he said. As per the consumers, they were being charged Rs 30 to Rs 52 per litre for milk sold in
their areas.
