Union Law Ministry on Wednesday said that prior consent of Centre is needed before the enactment of Jan Lokpal Bill.
AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal has warned to go to any extent to get the Bill passed in Delhi assembly. Kejriwal last week said that he is ready to sacrifice the CM’s seat a hundred times to remove corruption from the country.
The Union Home Ministry had earlier referred to the Law Ministry the missive of the Kejriwal government to withdraw an order requiring proposed Bills to be sent to the central government first, official sources had said.
AAP government had written to the Home Ministry seeking withdrawal of its 2002 order which directs the Delhi government to take approval of the ministry before passage of any bill in the assembly.
