Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday blamed Central government for delay in his flagship Wi-Fi project. In his first ‘Talk to AK’ programme, the CM said due to the arrest of his Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar the project was getting delayed and would take some more time.
“Arvind sir, where is the free Wi-Fi scheme? Why hasn’t it taken off till now?” asked music composer Vishal Dadlani, reading out a question posted on social media. Dadlani, who moderated the two-hour session, joked that this was an answer that “trolls” would be interested in. Kejriwal said: “Rajendraji was looking after it. I have to appoint a new officer now.” He added the project would take 2-3 years.
“In the meantime, we will create a network of hotspots. It will be operational in East Delhi by December 2016 or January next year provided the Lt Governor does not nullify the proposal.” Kumar was arrested earlier this month, after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) accused him in a Rs 50-crore scam in the purchase of computers by the government.
AAP will contest Guj polls if people want: CM
New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will contest the Gujarat Assembly elections if “people ask for it,” said CM Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday. “The party does not contest polls. It’s the people of the state who fight it. Even in Delhi, the people spent (their own) money to bring us to power,” he said.
