Centre clears proposal for three new AIIMS

The government on Wednesday cleared a proposal to establish three new AIIMS in Maharashtra, Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) at a total of cost of Rs 4,949 crore.

The Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, today gave approval for setting up of three new All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) at Nagpur in Maharashtra, Manglagiri, Andhra Pradesh and Kalyani in West Bengal.

Each of the proposed <g data-gr-id="11">institution</g> will have a hospital with a capacity of 960 beds. 

In addition, there will be a teaching block, administrative block, AYUSH block, auditorium, nursing college, night shelter, hostel and residential facilities.
