Celebrating X-mas in full fervour

Christmas festivities have begun in the city and to celebrate in a grand manner one can visit Shangri-La’s - Eros Hotel, in the national Capital. The hotel recently hosted its Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony to usher in the festive and magical holiday season.

To make this year’s Christmas even more special, the tree is made up of dried twigs and laden with red berries and Christmas tree toppers.

Their team worked for two months to create this environmentally friendly Christmas tree keeping in line with the Hotel’s green initiative.

Guests were offered Santa hats to get them into the Christmas spirit as soon as they stepped into the Lobby. Guests were treated to delectable Christmas delights, such as chocolate Santa, plum cake, candies, Gingerbread cookies and mulled wine as they immersed themselves in the festive spirit.

The evening kicked off when Parmeet Singh Nayar, General Manager, welcomed the guests, followed by the entry of the evening’s host. Little children were invited to a treasure hunt to look for the magical switch which would light up and illuminate the Christmas tree.

The excited bunch of children ran around, trying to be the first to find the switch.

Nayar along with the management and the young winner lit the Christmas tree; Santa came through his chimney and went straight into the lobby to give out goodie bags to all the excited young kids. Songs like Jingle Bell, Joy to the World and Santa Claus is Coming to Town by young carolers reverberated through the Lobby as everyone sang along.  Christmas is the season of giving, especially to the less fortunate, so the hotel gave an opportunity to spread some Christmas cheer and generosity to people in need by inviting guests to adopt the Hotel’s festive Ambassador “The Baby Bear” for Rs 300 each and the funds collected would be donated to the hotel’s Embrace Partner, Noida Deaf Society (Shangri-La’s care for People Project). Shangri-La’s - Eros Hotel’s Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony brought alive the rich tradition, heralding and unveiling the spirit of the festive season in all its grandeur.
