Celebrating festive season with gifts

The festival season has begun and the national Capital is prepared to splurge money and buy goodies. The city is getting all decked-up to welcome Diwali, the epitome of festival season, by opening various melas.
To give a simple nudge to the shopaholics this season, Delhi tourism is all set to organise Diwali Mela at Dilli Haat. Offering people a perfect way to adorn the decor of their home, vibrant stalls will sell handicrafts, handlooms and exclusive gift items. Decorative candles, floating diyas, vandanwar and other decorative items like rangoli stencils shall also be available.
Regional food delicacies, joy rides and camel rides would be the other attractions along with cultural programmes organised by the Sahitya Kala Parishad and Punjabi Academy. The mela began on November 6 and will conclude on November 8 at Delhi Haat, Janakpuri and at Dilli Haat, INA it will be held from November 6 to 11.
Another festival with the focus on designer clothes will be organised by students of JD Institute of Fashion Technology on November 7 and 8 at Lokayata,Hauz Khas Village.
The main aim of the fest is to make the student Designers understand how creatively they can contribute towards the society to be not just fashion designers but Responsible designers. Students will be making hand made products like lamp shades, candle stands, textile and fabric appreciation, diyas, nail art and tattoo, stylised customised jewellery and other decorative items.
