‘CCTV cameras in Delhi schools shameful’

Reacting sharply to the Delhi budget, senior BJP leader and former Delhi MLA, Vijay Jolly on Friday in a statement termed the decision of the AAP government to install CCTV cameras in Delhi schools as “shameful”.

Installing CCTV cameras in all classrooms across all Delhi schools by Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is like mounting “surveillance on Delhi teacher’s community,” said Jolly.

“It is an affront challenge to the honesty and integrity of the teaching fraternity. It has never happened before,” alleged Jolly.

He strongly condemned the mounting surveillance on teachers and students through CCTV cameras. Jolly pointed out that the AAP government intends to “spy” on teachers and has thus made provisions in its maiden budget. “We demand that the Delhi government take back this draconian budgetary announcement,” he added.
