CBSE release exam date sheet

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the schedule for the class X and XII board examinations. The exams will start from 1 March, 2014.
The first major class X exam will be mathematics, which will be conducted on 3 March. Class XII exams will commence with English paper (elective, functional and core) on 1 March, physics and chemistry exams will be conducted on 5 and 11 March respectively. Biology and mathematics will be conducted on 15 and 20 March. For humanities, history and political science exams are going to be held on 4 and 8 March respectively. A senior official from the CBSE administration, wishing anonymity said, ‘This year 13,25,627 candidates have registered for class X exams, 7.29 lakh candidates will sit for school-based Summative II exams, while 5.96 lakh students will appear for the board-based external exam’.
‘Breaking previous record, 9,40,228 have registered for the class XII exams. For class X exams, which includes both the external and school-based, over 13.25 lakh students have registered, up by nearly 70,000 from March 2013 exams. Registrations for class XII exams has also increased by over 20,000 from the 2013 exams.’
