The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will promote Sanskrit in schools in an endeavour to revive, conserve and promote Indian values and culture. The board’s new venture of promoting Sanskrit, which is the most ancient language, is in the most demanding stage of restoration. The knowledge of the language will not only bind one to Indian culture but also provide clarity on tradition and values. It is also noteworthy that a vast majority of international historians or writers now look for Sanskrit quotes and write ups for their findings. Understanding the essence of the language, the Board has devised a full-fledged plan to celebrate Sanskrit Week in schools by outlining and highlighting certain set of activities for students, teachers and principals. The objective of dedicating such a good span on this revival activity and celebrating the language is that students and teachers come forward to share ideas that will help young learners take interest in the language and gain proximity to India’s roots.
