CBI to rope in best experts to probe case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will rope in its best Special Crimes’ investigators and use the experience of experts from Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) to the mysterious Sheena Bora murder case, in which her mother Indrani Mukerjea has been arrested.
The agency is waiting for a notification from the Maharashtra government to begin the probe. Once the notification is issued by the state and then the Centre, for handing over the probe to the agency, it will form a team of investigators who will examine the case from <g data-gr-id="15">background</g>.
The agency is expected to form a panel of expert doctors and forensic experts to study Sheena’s autopsy report.
The CBI has investigated many controversial murder cases in past several years including the Aarushi-Hemraj murders. The CBI's Special Crimes and STF units have investigated some mysterious and sensational deaths cases as well including last year’s Badaun rape case, DK Ravi death and others.
Court rejects Khanna’s plea on release
A city court on Saturday rejected an application moved by Sanjeev Khanna, former husband of key accused Indrani Mukerjea and a co-accused in the Sheena Bora murder case, seeking release from jail. Khanna’s contention was his custody ended on September 7, he was not produced before <g data-gr-id="45">court</g> that day but was taken to Kolkata by the police and produced in a court there.
