CBI files three fresh FIRs in coal scam

A Mumbai based SKS Ispat & Power Limited Company along with all the members of the 36th Screening Committee of the government were booked by the CBI on Tuesday in connection with the ongoing probe into irregularities while allotting coal blocks from 1993 to 2005 and 2006 to 2009.
CBI spokesperson said, ‘SKS Ispat & Power Limited Company promoter-cum-CMD Anil Gupta along with other directors including Deepak Gupta, G.L. Mohta, Janardhan Rao, Pankaj Kumar Jha and Prasanna Mishra along with the screening committee members was booked in three separate cases.’
This is the 24th FIR in the case related to the allocation of coal blocks. Several raids were conducted by the investigating agency across India including in Mumbai, Raipur, New Delhi and in Ahmedabad before charging them with criminal conspiracy (section 120 B IPC), cheating (section 420 of IPC) and criminal misconduct (Sec 13 (1) (a).
