CBI books three Bokaro steel officials for graft

CBI has booked three officials of Bokaro Steel Limited for alleged fraud in purchase of medicines for medical camps of the PSU.
The agency booked a senior deputy director (medical administration) and an assistant general manager and a senior pharmacist, both of Local Purchase Cell of Bokaro Steel for alleged cheating, forgery and provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act, CBI spokesperson said.
The spokesperson said they had entered into a criminal conspiracy with partners of a Bokaro-based private firm and with unknown persons during 2008-2009.
‘The accused cheated the Bokaro Steel Limited by way of making payment of fake and fraudulent medicine bills worth nearly Rs 23.73 lakh,’ the spokesperson stated.
