CBI arrests DSP, SI in graft case

A Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and a Sub-Inspector, posted here in UT Chandigarh, along with two others have been arrested by CBI sleuths for allegedly accepting <g data-gr-id="12">bribe</g> of Rs 40 lakh.
DSP RC Meena, posted in Economic Offence Wing (EOW), SI Surinder Kumar and two industrialists, Aman Grover and Sanjay <g data-gr-id="15">Dahuja</g>, were arrested by the CBI sleuths yesterday, police said. Complainant Gurkirat Chawla had alleged in her complaint that the DSP had sought money through <g data-gr-id="16">Dahuja</g> for not arresting G S Chawla, her father who owns a petrol pump in Mohali and his relatives who are booked in a 2011 forgery case here, they said.
According to the police, the complainant had approached <g data-gr-id="11">Dahuja</g> through Aman Grover, <g data-gr-id="14">a hotelier,</g> and the deal was struck at Rs 40 lakh, police said.
The money was allegedly delivered to Sanjay and Aman yesterday evening and the accused even called the DSP confirming that the money had been received.
