Cash worth Rs 8 lakh stolen from Noida bank

In a daring daylight incident, an as-yet-unidentified thief took away cash worth over eight lakh from the cabin of a Noida bank cashier on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened at approximately 11 am at the sector 18 market branch of Syndicate Bank.
According to the police complaint, the cashier, Surendra Sharma, left his cabin for a few minutes without locking either the drawer of his table or the cabin. When he returned to his cabin after approximately five minutes, he found all the cash missing from the drawer and the cash box.
'I sounded an alert and every person inside the bank was frisked by the guards and the bank staff, but the money could not be recovered,' Sharma said. Police is checking the CCTV footage of the bank to identify the culprit.
