The maximum temperature was at a notch lower than the season’s average but Delhiites were in for a hot day on Friday even as the weatherman made a forecast of a possibility of dust storms in some parts of the city on Saturday.
Be prepared for some thunderstorm and light rain, the Met department had warned in view of western disturbances affecting the western Himalayan region, Delhi and other parts of the northwestern plains are likely to witness thunderstorms and squall on Friday. The mercury settled a notch below the normal at 37.6 degrees Celsius while the minimum was recorded at 24.2 degrees, also a notch below the normal, a MeT Department official said. The humidity in air oscillated between 41 per cent and 73 per cent.
There is a prediction for partly cloudy skies and likely dust storms in some parts of Delhi on Saturday. “The sky will be partly cloudy. Dust storms could occur in some parts of Delhi. Tomorrow (Saturday) the maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to hover around 38 and 24 degrees, respectively,” the official said.
