‘Can’t make mistake of giving K’taka to Congress’

Addressing his first poll rally in Karnataka on Sunday, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi attacked the Congress party for failing the people of the country.  In a hard hitting attack  Modi said that the country knows too well as to what the grand old part was capable of and so the voters would not make the mistake of handing over the reins of Karnataka to them.

‘Can anyone make the mistake of liking the Congress? People gave Delhi to them and faced the consequences, we can't make the mistake of giving Karnataka to them,’ said Modi.

Asking people not to trust Congress, the Gujarat chief minister said ‘I want voters to ask the Congress - every form of government is in Delhi and CBI is also in Delhi. However, is Delhi safe and secure? So how can anyone have faith in the Congress? If they cannot manage Delhi, how can they manage Karnataka.’

Taking a dig at Congress President Sonia Gandhi  and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi, the Gujarat chief minister  said that if power was ‘poison’ as advocated by Congress President then what was Rahul Gandhi doing by going around asking people to vote for the Congress in Karnataka.

He also remarked that Congress power is the poison that has destroyed the nation and they are the ones who have spread the poison of communalism.

The Gujarat chief minister accepted that the situation in as the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) ruled Karnataka was rosy but that did not come in the growth of the state. ‘We were faced with internal turmoil for the past couple of months, but we did not let that come in the path of progress and development of the state. If BJP commits a mistake, we are ready to accept it and fall at janata's (public)  feet for apology, we don't run a business like Congress,’ said Modi, while sharpening his attack on the Congress party.

Devoting much of his attention to the Central government, Modi criticised the party for not reducing the inflation in the country and going back on their promises.

'Government promised to control inflation in 10 days but that didn't happen, on the contrary price has been rising relentlessly,' said Modi.

Modi exhorted the voters to vote the BJP back to power, ‘Karnataka is going to decide as to what their future is going to be for the next five years, whoever is bothered about the future of the state will vote for BJP in large numbers,’ said Modi while expressing his confidence under the leadership of Chief  Minister Jagdish Shettar.

Modi also rebuked the Congress for not revealing as to who their CM candidate is going to be. ‘The Congress should at least say as to who their CM will be nobody knows as to whose hand it’s going to be,’ said Modi.

Voting for the Karrnataka polls will take place on 5 May.
