Cake, special ‘sandesh’ for Master Blaster

A five-pound gooey chocolate cake with Sachin’s face and a message carved on top will be delivered to Tendulkar by the Mullicks who have also launched the Sachin ‘sandesh’ on this occasion.

The multi-layered cake with chocolate piping will say, ‘To the God of cricket on 199th test at Eden Gardens 2013’. ‘Though it is Bhaiphonta for us in Bengal, we are giving this cake top priority. It is a historic occasion for us,’ proprietor Sudip Mullick told Millennium Post.

There will be a five kilo sandesh cake to grace the occasion as well. It will have a figure of the legendary batsman weilding his willow on it. Interestingly, those with a sweet tooth, can also savour some new sandesh with the magical Sachin touch at the sweet shop.

‘The public can taste some sandesh with Sachin’s emblem on them. They will be available at Rs 40 a piece’, said Mullick.

On his arrival on Sunday night, Tendulkar was welcomed by CAB officials with 199 roses, amidst jostling by hundreds of fans  trying to get close to him.

When he stepped into the arena on Monday morning for a net session, a five-foot-four-inch wax replica greeted him at the entrance of the dressing room as fans gathered outside Eden Gardens for a glimpse of the maestro during practice.
