Cabinet reshuffle likely on April 8

On the sidelines of the BJP National Executive meet preparation, central ministers including Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed a possible Cabinet expansion on April 8. it is likely that Minority Affairs Minister Najma Heptullah will be dropped. She will be replaced with BJP's Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, who is presently the MoS in the present Cabinet.
A party insider said, PDP MP Mehbooba Mufti and Shiv Sena leader and Rajya Sabha MP Anil Desai are likely to be inducted into the Union Cabinet. Earlier, in November Modi had expanded his Cabinet for the first time in which former Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar and former Shiv Sainik Suresh Prabhu were allocated Defence and Railway portfolios respectively.
