Cabinet okays land acquisition bill

The Union Cabinet on Thursday cleared the Land Acquisition Bill that provides for consent of 80 per cent of affected land owners in case of land acquired by private players. The bill also provides for assent by 70 per cent of affected land owners in case of land acquisition by a public-private partnership project.
