Medical, Sales Representatives of Bihar,Jharkhand on strike

Thousand of Medical and Sales Representatives of Bihar and Jharkhand today went on a strike in support of some labour and medicine related demands.
The strike in Bihar and Jharkhand was observed on the call of Federation of Medical and Sales Representatives Association of India (FMRAI), General Secretary of Bihar, Jharkhand Sales Representatives Union Devashis Roy said in a statement.
Highlighting the issues for strike, Roy said since reconstitution of the Industrial Tripartite Committee for the Sales Promotion Employees no meeting has been called by the Central Government even though it was assured to be called by the Ministry of Labour and Employment.
They also demanded extension of maternity leave for 26 weeks to women sales promotion employees under Promotion Employees by specifying the provision within 6 (4) of the Sales Promotion Employees (Conditions of Service) Act, 1976.
Strides Shasun Q3 net jumps over 3 fold
Drug firm Strides Shasun reported an over three fold jump in its consolidated net profit to Rs 187.32 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016 as the company on Friday unveiled major restructuring plans.
The company had posted a net profit after taxes and minority interest and share of loss of associates and joint ventures of Rs 58.90 crore, Strides Shasun said in a filing to BSE.
