JSW Steel's May crude production at 14.53 lt

New Delhi/ Bengaluru: JSW Steel Tuesday reported four per cent growth in crude steel output at 14.53 lakh tonne (LT) during May 2019. The Sajjan Jindal-led steel player produced 13.99 LT crude steel in May 2018, JSW Steel said in a statement.

Last month, the company's output of flat rolled products rose 6 per cent to 10.17 LT from 9.56 LT in the same month last year, it said.

The output of long rolled products was also up by 9 per cent at 3.58 LT as compared to 3.29 LT in May 2018.

JSW Steel is part of $14 billion JSW Group and has presence in sectors such as steel, energy, infrastructure, cement, sports, among others.

Meanwhile, promising the 'any colour-one price'offer, the JSW Group Tuesday announced thelaunch of its paints business in Karnataka. The launch marks the company's objective to provide comprehensive offering for consumer homes through steel, cement, furniture and now paints.

Speaking to reporters here, the joint managing director and chief executive officer of JSW Paints A S Sundaresan said the company's simple, swift and sure way would help consumers make an informed and confident choice.
