JSW Energy powers Q3 profit by 181.45%

Mumbai: JSW Energy Limited reported a rise od 181.45 percent in consolidated net profit for the quarter ended
December 31, 2017 at 50.55 crore as compared with net profit of
Rs 17.96 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2016.
Total Income from Operations increased by 6 percent to Rs 2,081 crore as against Rs 1,955 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, largely due to better merchant realisations and increase in other income, company release said.
The fuel cost for the quarter increased by 18 percent Year-on-Year to Rs 1,171 crore, primarily dueto increase in international prices of coal.
EBIDTA before exceptional items for the quarter was Rs 673 crore as against Rs 708 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year, a decrease of 5 percent, primarily due to true-up provisions.
Finance costs have declined to Rs 341 crore from Rs 423 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous year primarily due to interest rate reductions as well as prepayment/repayment/refinancing of borrowings.
Total Comprehensive Income of the Company for the quarter stood at Rs 189 crore as against Rs (34) crore in the corresponding period of the previous year.
The Consolidated Net Worth and Consolidated Net Debt as at December 31, 2017 were Rs 11,469 crore and Rs 11,896 crore respectively resulting in a low Net Debt to Equity ratio of 1.04 times, a substantial decline from 1.29 times at the end of Q4FY17.
