The Delhi region of Food Corporation of India (FCI) has started its preparations for the release of fair and average quality wheat under relaxed specifications to flour mills under Open Market Sale Scheme (domestic) (OMSS-D). The move is aimed at improving domestic supply by controlling the retail of wheat and atta across the country.

Traders are not allowed to participate as the Under OMSS-D scheme is open only for flour mills, processors, atta chakki and manufacturers of wheat products.

As per the guidelines of the scheme, all the eligible parties are allowed to buy a minimum 10 MT and maximum 100 MT wheat.

The FCI’s Delhi region is scheduled to conduct an e-auction on August 2 and a total 3000 MT each of wheat and rice has been offered from three depots of FCI Delhi region. The reserve price for sale of wheat FAQ is Rs 2150/quintal, while the reserved price for wheat URS is Rs 2,125/quintal and reserve price of fortified rice is Rs 3,173/quintal.

The taxes, if any, would be extra and the last date of EMD deposit is Monday.
