'Come to Bengal... ride the growth,' State Govt tells Thailand Inc

Bangkok: A high powered official and business delegation from West Bengal, India led by S Kishore, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Industries, Commerce & Enterprises, Government of West Bengal and Vandana Yadav, MD, WBIDC visited Thailand from August 30 – September 1 to promote closer engagement and cooperation in various fields and explore trade and investment opportunities between Thailand and West Bengal.
A Seminar "Business & Investment Opportunities in West Bengal" was organised by Embassy of India at Bangkok, in collaboration with the Thai Chamber of Commerce on August 31 at Hotel Holiday Inn, Bangkok.
The session was addressed by Khun SananAngubolkul, Vice Chairman of Thai Chamber of Commerce & Board of Trade of Thailand and Chairman & President, Srithai Superware Public Co Ltd. From Government of West Bengal, S Kishore delivered the keynote address. Vandana Yadav made a presentation on 'Opportunities on West Bengal'. The event had a vibrant interactive session with different businesses and associations from Thailand and members of the official and business delegation from West Bengal.
Rudra Chatterjee, Senior Vice President, Indian Chamber of Commerce&Executive Director, Luxmi Tea Company Ltd., Shiv Siddhant Kaul, Co-Chairman, Science & Technology and Innovation Committee & Member, National Executive Committee, FICCI& MD, Nicco Engineering Services Ltdand business delegates spoke on their experiences of doing business in West Bengal. Thai Business Heads were also called to highlight business oppurtunities between Thailand and West Bengal.
The sectors of collaboration between Thailand and West Bengal include manufacturing, chemicals, auto ancillaries, food processing, hospitality & tourism, logistics and skill development.
