CBDT extends deadline for Form 24Q TDS filing

New Delhi: The Central Board of Direct Taxes has issued a notification extending the deadline for filing Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) statement in Form 24Q and issuance of TDS certificate in Form 16 for FY 2018-19 following a revision of its format and consequent updating of the File Validation Utility (FVU) for its online filing.

The CBDT has ordered that deadline for filing TDS statement in Form 24Q for FY 2018-19 be extended from May 31 to June 30 and that the deadline for issuing TDS certificates in Form 16 for FY 2018-19 be extended from June 15 to July 10.

The tax authority had amended the necessary forms earlier and said the extension is being granted to redress difficulties faced by deductors due to these changes.
