In a shocking incident, a reputed builder has been arrested for repeatedly sexually assaulting his daughter-in-law. He has been sent to 14 days judicial custody.
According to police, the first attempt of sexual assault was made in the month of January when the woman, who got married a year ago, went to appear for her Company Secretaries (CS) examination.
Her father-in-law, identified as Satish Sharma, who is allegedly the owner of a private realty firm accompanied her and after the examination, took her to one of his flats in Haryana.
She alleged that Sharma told her that he also owns a flat in Charmwood Village in Haryana.
He lured her to visit the flat with him. Quoting her statement: ‘Reaching the flat, my father-in-law assaulted me. When I opposed, he threatened me of dire consequences. Later, we returned home and in fear I preferred to keep mum,’ a police official said.
‘Few days later, when no one was at the residence, Sharma again attempted to assault me,’ the victim said. She told the police that when she narrated the incident to the rest of the family, instead of helping her, they started accusing her of having a bad character. She alleged that after she narrated the incident she was brutally beaten up by her husband and mother-in-law who had thrown her out of the house.
‘She then filed a complaint against her father-in-law. On Wednesday, Satish was arrested and was produced at a local court.
‘The magistrate on Thursday sent him to Tihar for 14 days,’ the official added.
