B.Tech student shot at in road rage incident

In a road rage incident, a 20-year-old BTech student, studying at Galgotia College, was shot at and critically injured by unidentified assailants in Greater Noida on Monday morning. Police said that the student was shot at over a petty issue and was admitted in the ICU of a private hospital, where his condition has been stated to be critical. Police have registered a case but have yet not identified the attackers.
According to police, the incident took place around 4 am near Kailash when the two- Ashwini and Sumit Garg, second year BTech students of Galgotia College were coming from Tuglaqpur area. They were on a bike as a speeding Hyundai Accent hit their vehicle. The occupants of the car then scuffled with the students and one of them fired bullets on them. As Ashwini was driving the bike, he suffered bullet injuries in his abdomen. The assailants fled from the spot immediately.
The passers-by called the police and he was admitted in ICU of the hospital where he is recuperating. The police conducted a search operation to nab the accused.
“We have registered a case and are investigating the matter. We have been scanning the CCTV footage of the area to identify the vehicle. The family members of the victim, who live in Allahabad, have also been informed,” said a senior police official investigating the matter.
