BSP starts meetings to lure Brahmins

In an attempt to extend its political base, the Bahujan Samaj Party has started its Brahmin Bhaichara meeting, asking upper caste to support the BSP in the next LS election.

The first of such meetings was held in Khalilabad, where party’s national general secretary Satish Mishra asked Dalits and Brahmins to support the BSP.

‘If these two important political forces combine together this political strength can make BSP a winner at all the 80 Lok Sabha seats,’ he added. Both communities should identify their importance and contribute in uplifting the society, the BSP leader said, adding that his party favours economy-based reservation not caste based. The poor among the upper caste should also avail the benefit of reservation, he said. ‘Poor Brahmins are also entitled to receive the benefit of reservation and the party would provide economic status-based reservation on coming to power,’ Mishra said.
