VV Chaudhary, additional commissioner of police (north-east) said, ‘On Thursday, we had contacted Aleem and instructed him to join the investigation on Friday.
He was supposed to come to Delhi till 12 am, but till the evening he had not responded. However, at around 8.30 pm, Aleem reached the police station after which he was brought to the additional CP office in Seelampur.’
Shahjahan, domestic help of Rehana who first saw the victim’s body on Wednesday morning, has reportedly told police that Rehana and Aleem’s relationship had been quite strained since the past few months.
A police officer requesting anonymity said, ‘Shahjahan told police that during early October, both Aleem and Shagir visited Rehana and the trio had a quarrel over something, after which Rehana instructed the help to not come over for work later in the evening. The next day also, Rehana made a call to her and asked her to take a leave saying that she was going to her relative’s place.’
