BSES Yamuna Power Ltd has been asked by a consumer forum here to pay Rs 2,000 as compensation to one of its customers for delay in converting his connection to domestic category from non-domestic one due to which he had to pay higher power bill.
Observing that the customer was ‘unnecessarily burdened’ with extra payment due to the delay by BSES, the East District Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, directed the discom to adjust the excess payment made by complainant against his future bills.
‘We agree with complainant [Nafis Ahmed] that he has been unnecessarily burdened with the extra payment on account of delay on the part of the respondent. We allow this complaint and direct the respondent [BSES] to issue the bill with regard to the connection in question on the basis of domestic power.
