Both discoms are afraid that the subsidy worth about Rs 228 crore might be adjusted against the Rs 4,062 crore that the two discoms owe the Delhi government.
BSES officials say that till date they have not received any indication of getting the subsidy amount from the government hence they are planning to write to the L-G. On the other hand, Tata Power is likely to get the subsidy amount by Wednesday. Former Arvind Kejriwal government got theĀ Appropriation Bill-2014 passed before resigning and finally approved Rs 372 crore for subsidy.
Delhi government owes Tata Power Rs 110 crore as subsidy dues for the October-December 2013 quarter apart from the subsidy for the January-March quarter.
According to sources, Rajdhani is owed Rs 37 crore for the last quarter (October-December), while BSES Yamuna is to get Rs 25 crore.
The AAP- government had warned BSES discoms that it will not adjust the outstanding dues to DTL, IPGCL and PPCL against the subsidy.
BSES discoms are planning to inform the L-G that they need the subsidy money to clear outstanding bill of NTPC, NHPC and Damodar Valley Corporation among others.
