Brothers die in road accident

The shopkeepers and villagers of Loharali market in Greater Noida jammed the GT road for around three hours when a government mowed down a bike, killing both the rider and pillion rider.
According to police, a bus of Kidwai Nagar depot, Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation [UPSRTC], crushed a bike near the local market of village Loharali on Thursday morning. The rider, Jagpal, 55, died on the spot while his elder brother Rampal, 60, was injured seriously. He was rushed to nearby Naveen Hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
The bus driver and conductor managed to flee from the spot, abandoning the bus. According to the police, the accident took place around 10.30 am, when they had just arrived on the highway from the road connecting the village.
Villagers broke the glasses of the bus and damaged it badly. They also damaged over six buses coming from both sides on the highway with wooden sticks and iron rods. ‘Locals immediately gathered on the highway and damaged over half a dozen of buses of UPSRTC. We have registered cases against unknown persons but nobody has been arrested so far,’ said Arvind Kumar, Circle Officer [CO] of Dadri.
Later in the day, police arrested the driver, Ajay Pal, who hails from Etah in Uttar Pradesh.
