British Airways sorry for ad inviting passsengers to 'escape to Indian Ocean'

The ad showing a sea of blue on screens at the Euston station along with the phrase 'Escape the commute and discover the Indian Ocean' caught the London train passengers by surprise.

A British Airways spokeswoman apologized saying that the airline was sorry for any offense caused and the advertisement campaign featured in the UK was being withdrawn, ABC news reported.

The spokesperson added that the campaign was planned some months ago and the airways did not recognize that its appearance at this time was inappropriate.

The missing Malaysia Airlines Flight 370, carrying 239 passengers aboard had disappeared on March 8 and is believed to have plunged somewhere in the Indian Ocean.

The search for the ill-fated plane is still on.
