Britain keen to welcome PM Modi next year

Britain is keen to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi next year, British high commissioner to India Sir James Bevan said on Saturday at a meeting with Bharatiya Janata Party leader Vijay Jolly.

Jolly met the British high commissioner here and the meeting was also attended by first secretary (political) Dr Emily Cutler, a statement said.

‘Warm good wishes from BJP president Amit Shah were also conveyed by Jolly. The British high 

commissioner stated that he looks forward to his meeting with Shah soon at New Delhi,’ the statement 

said. It said during the meeting, Bevan fondly recalled that the British government was the first to re-engage with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in 2012.
