Bone-chilling cold waves grip U’khand

The intense cold wave made life miserable especially for school-going children waiting for school/private transport in the morning foggy hours.
The senior citizens are also complaining of chest pain and breathing-related problems. Doctors have advised to asthma patients to avoid morning walk these days, and do some light exercise in the interiors.
Mostly trains are reaching late from other cities due to intense fog in Haridwar and other plain areas in Uttar Pradesh. From the last one week, the Satabdi train running from Delhi is reaching one to two hours late at the Dehradun platform.
According to state met department, the maximum temperature noted was 18.5 degree Celsius, while minimum temperature plummeted to 4.6 degree Celsius. In the next 24 hours, there is probability of drizzle in some areas of Dehradun city and its surrounding areas, while higher altitudes areas can receive snowfall in the next 48 hours.
In Mussorrie, the frozen dew in the morning hours created the delusion of snowfall. Although, it is expected that this hill station will receive more snowfall, if western disturbances brings rainfall to this place. The higher regions can expect of more rainfall accompanied by snowfall in the next 48 hours.
