Bombay HC to be renamed Mumbai HC, Gowda assures

The Shiv Sena MPs on Monday got an assurance from the Union law and judiciary minister Sadanand Gowda to initiate the proposal of changing nomenclature to replace the word ‘Mumbai’ with ‘Bombay’ in the name of the high court. 

The minister has assured to bring the proposal in the cabinet at the earliest, they said. Sena MP Vinayak Raut raised the issue of replacement of the word ‘Mumbai with Bombay’ in the Lok Sabha during zero 

hour.
