The Bharatiya Janata Party on Wednesday said that it will take action against actor-politician Shatrughan Sinha for saying that Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar is prime minister material. ‘BJP will take disciplinary action against Shatrughan Sinha for his statement in favour of Nitish Kumar. It is harmful for the party,’ said party vice-president CP Thakur.
Thakur added that the BJP won’t stop Shatrughan Sinha if he decides to quit the party. Shatrughan Sinha, the BJP Lok Sabha member from Patna Saheb in Bihar, had said that Nitish Kumar is certainly PM material.
The BJP leaders in Delhi said that one should not pay attention to what Sinha says, ‘The best thing to do with Digvijaya Singh and Shatrughan Sinha is not to respond to what they say. That will in itself be a good punishment for them,’ said BJP leader Uma Bharati.
Sinha’s senior BJP colleague Yashwant Sinha also asked him to desist from such statements. ‘Bihari babu (Shatrughan Sinha) should refrain from making statements at a time relations between both the parties are at an all-time low,’ said Yashwant Sinha. Last week, after Shatrughan Sinha met Nitish Kumar, the chief minister praised him.
