Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) on Tuesday blamed the government for its insensitivity and indecision for the outrage and protests in the county. 'Whatever has been happening in the capital is due to the accumulation of anger of people over the law and order situation here, it is not just because of this particular incident of gang rape,' said BJP leader M Venkaiah Naidu.
The BJP leader alleged that people feel that the system has let them down due to the policies and attitude of the government. ‘The way in which the Home Minister made a statement yesterday, it was provoking, he made uncharitable comments against the protestors and he spoke in a very light manner about the need to have a dialogue with the agitators,’ said Naidu while criticising Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde over his comments.
Naidu further said that the government rejected his party's demand to either call a special session of Parliament to discuss issues related to women's safety or an all-party meeting to assure the people that the political system was working for them.'Last night, we met President Pranab Mukherjee, he assured us that he will talk to the Prime Minister on the issue,' said Naidu.
