'BJP should back SP on backward castes’

Accusing BJP chief Rajnath Singh of pitching backward castes against each other during his tenure as UP Chief Minister, Samajwadi Party today said that if he was their well wisher then BJP should join the party in the struggle to include 17 backward castes inScheduled Castes. Speaking to reporters here, senior Samajwadi Party leader and state minister Gayatri Prasad Prajapati also questioned as to what efforts had been made by BJP’s prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi for the backward castes including Bind, Kashyap and Nishad in his state, Gujarat.

“During his regime as Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Rajnath tried to pitch backward castes against each other,” Prajapati alleged while talking to the reporters here.
