BJP rally to start election campaign in UP today

Prepartions have been done for Monday’s Atal Shankhnad rally where Kalyan Singh’s Jan Kranti Party (Rashtravadi) would merge with BJP in the presence of party president Nitin Gadkari.

Almost all the senior BJP leaders of Uttar Pradesh have confirmed their participation in the rally to be held at Jhule Lal Park here when the party will formally launch the Lok Sabha campaign in the state.

BJP state president Laxmikant Bajpai in a press conference here on Sunday said that the focus of the rally will be to remember the good governance of Atal Bihari Vajpayee government and to promise to the people to give a similar government at the Centre if NDA comes to power in 2014.

Though Jankranti Party of Kalyan Singh will be merged with the BJP in the rally, but Singh would not join the party or attend the rally due to technical reason as he is an Independent MP in the Lok Sabha.

Bajpai said on Saturday, Gadkari will also launch the party’s Toll Free Helpline service- 18001022024 where people can give suggestions or lodge their complaints and even seek information about the party or leaders.

‘The helpline number would work efficiently within next month time,’ he asserted. Talking about the rally, he said, ‘A sea of humanity is expected to descend on the state capital on Monday when more than two dozen senior leaders, including Rajnath Singh, Murli Manohar Joshi, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, Varun Gandhi, Yogi Adityanath, Karuna Shukla and Kalraj Mishra would participate.’
