BJP promises one-stop solution for villagers

The chief of Delhi BJP Satish Upadhyay has promised a ‘one stop solution’ to look into the issues being faced by villagers and farmers in Delhi.

While the party has not finalised any name for its soon-to-be-announced rural wing, but speculations are rife that a body like Rural Commission or Farmer’s Commission may get a place in its poll manifesto.

“I am of the view that farmers and villagers in Delhi should get a ‘one window’ facility get their all the issues addressed,” said Upadhyay to a delegation of Delhi villagers on Tuesday.

The villagers are facing problems like sanctioning of building plan, extension of residential areas due to increase in population and absence of an exclusive agency to address the problems faced by them. “We have to go to Haryana to purchase seeds, fertiliser and pesticides for villagers,” said a farmer in the meeting.

Meanwhile, the Delhi BJP claimed to have enrolled 13.25 lakh members within one month of the launch of its membership drive. The party had fixed a target to enrol 15 lakh members from the national Capital during its membership drive. “We will easily achieve our target before 15 December.
We will finalise our next step during out meeting on 16 December,” Upadhyay said. He further informed the Delhi unit of BJP has enrolled second maximum members after Uttar Pradesh. “We have directed our workers to furnish data of the members in sheets of 100 persons”, he added.
